In an attempt to mimic Kenner‘s Super Powers Collection, Toy Biz released an officially licensed line of figures based on DC Comics characters in 1989. This Superman figure was in wave 2 (wave 1 being reserved for Batman since that was the year of the Tim Burton and Michael Keaton film). Instead of being accompanied by a mini-comicbook like the Super Powers version, this figure came with a kid-sized magnetic Kryptonite ring that would repel the other magnet within the figure. That’s right! Delight in the pleasure of knowing that you can wield Superman’s number one weakness on your finger. Watch as Superman falls over, unable to resist the power you possess. Well, in hindsight, not exactly a pro-Superman toy but definitely one that Lex Luthor would enjoy.
