Kellogg’s Pep Cereal Superman pin (1945)

In the 1940s, each box of Kellogg’s Pep Cereal contained one pin that featured a popular comic strip character on it.  Among the characters were Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie, Popeye, The Phantom, Felix the Cat, Barney Google, The Little King, Flash Gordon and many others.

This Superman pin was so popular that it was included in every release rotation beginning in 1945.  It measures .75 inch in diameter and features a lithograph of Superman and the name “Kellogg’s” on the back.
