Here is Superman #300 which tells the tale of Kal-El arriving as a baby in 1976 and becoming Superman in the future year of 2001! In this imaginary tale, the 1990s boasted a new, taller Empire State Building, eco-friendly super-sonic aircraft, and a protective dome over the White House. The year 2001 featured a very different, very futuristic Times Square and a worldwide “communications link-up which makes possible a 24-hour news network” called Planet News which can be viewed on a holographic devices called Tri-Vision.
The cover was drawn by Curt Swan. The story was written by Cary Bates and Elliot S. Maggin. The interior art was done by Curt Swan and Bob Oksner.
