In 1996, the historic toy company FAO Schwarz sold an exclusive set of Superman figures produced by Kenner.  A rather large box titled “The History of Superman Collection” opened up to reveal three twelve-inch Superman figures chronicling the history of the character through three separate costume designs.

The first figure is representative of the Golden Age Superman, the second of the Silver Age Superman and the then considered “modern” Superman with a darker blue suit and long hair.  The set came with three trading cards featuring comic covers: Action Comics #1 (1938), Action Comics #467 (1977) and Superman: The Man of Tomorrow #1 (1995).  Also included in the set was a hologram trading card.
