Here is the March 14, 1988 issue of Time magazine celebrating Superman’s 50th birthday. The cover features a bold image of Clark Kent changing into Superman. The cover artwork was penciled by John Byrne and inked by Jerry Ordway. In this issue, Time devoted eight pages to the history of Superman from his creation by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster… all the way up to John Byrne’s redesign and the Christopher Reeve films.
That’s a great cover for Superman’s 50th. Time is a good magazine if you focus on particular characters or themes. I have a 1980 Time with Vader art on the cover when it featured the then Empire Strikes Back release. Good adverts inside too.

Hello, my friend! My name’s Carlos and I’m from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I’d like to read this issue’s full story about Superman’s 50th anniversary. Do you know where in the web I could find it? Thank you very much!

Hello Carlos,
That is a very good question. I haven’t found either scans or a transcription of this magazine online anywhere. If you’d like, I do believe there is a copy of it available on eBay.
