Back in 2001, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting three stars from Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II (1980) at that year’s Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois. Sarah Douglas (who played Ursa), Valerie Perrine (who played Miss Eve Teschmacher), and Jack O’Halloran (who played Non). Knowing that they’d be there, I brought along some of my original Superman: The Movie trading cards and asked them if they wouldn’t mind signing their respective cards.
*Although these trading cards were autographed in 2001, they are the actual cards released in 1978.
Oh wow, these are great! Awesome you got them signed by the three stars of the film as well. Superman II is a brilliant movie, still one of the very best superhero films of its time. I love the big battle in Metropolis!

It was great to be able to meet them. Valerie Perrine’s black Sharpie ran out of ink just as she started to sign hers. All she had left was a green Sharpie left. After she very politely asked me if it would be okay to finish with the green one, I said, “sure!” I love that it adds character and a story to it.

That is so cool, great that you still got the card signed when the ink ran out as well, certainly makes getting that signature all the more special 🙂

Great that you not only met some of the cast but got their autographs too 🙂

I loved that card series as a kid, and it is on my list to return to at some point. Yours are even cooler with the autographs. That must have been quite an experience.

I too have been to the Superman Celebration and have met these guests as well. I, unfortunately, did not get a Valerie Perrine signed card. I have been looking for one for a while. If you would be interested in selling it, please let me know. I will make you a good offer on it.

Greetings to a fellow fan! Sorry, but I am quite attached to my collection. However, fear not. There are signed Valerie Perrine items for sale now and again online. Thanks for visiting!
