Here is a copy of the TV Guide issue for February 15-21, 1975. Its cover features an artistic interpretation of the cast of the television series The Rookies. You may be asking yourself, “Okay, what does this have to do with Superman?” Well, nothing if you view it at a surface level. What makes this a sought after issue for diehard Superman collectors is that this was the week that the television adaptation of the musical It’s a Bird… It’s a Plane… It’s Superman aired. This issue contains a two-page article (with only the lower portion of the first page containing text) about the musical and its star David Wilson. On the second page, there is a set of images showing comparison photos of Kirk Alyn, George Reeves and David Wilson in their respective Superman outfits. Sadly, Bob Holiday, the star of the 1966 Broadway musical, is neither mentioned by name or shown. Also mentioned is the 1966 cartoon series The New Adventures of Superman.
The musical aired on Friday, February 21, 1975 and its TV Guide entry read like this:
I acquired this issue several years ago. The copy of the TV Guide article that I remember as a child (yes, I watched the musical when it aired) was cut out of the issue and pasted into a scrap book.
