Krypton Cookie Dough ice cream container (1.5 quart) (2018*)

2018KryptonCookieDoughicecream

This is a 1.5-quart (1.41L) container for the Superman ice cream flavor called Krypton Cookie Dough.  This “light ice cream” is very sweet and is made of a vanilla based ice cream with red and gold cookie dough pieces and blue sprinkles.  The ice cream was produced by Dreyer’s but their company’s name is nowhere to be found on the packaging.

This is part of three flavors that were originally released. the other two are Dark Knight Brownie Bite (Batman) and Golden Lasso Twirl (Wonder Woman) which complete the DC Comics trinity in ice cream.  There are comic panels on the side of the packaging that tell a story in three parts… one on each container.

I’m glad to see a little more character merchandising from Warner Bros./DC Comics.  Hopefully this is the beginning of more diverse merchandising to come.

* Although the container is labeled with a 2017 copyright, the product wasn’t released in stores until 2018.

  1. I am definitely going to have to keep an eye out for this. Sounds like an interesting flavor, and with the packaging being what it is, I’m a total sucker for this sort of thing (a lot more than if there was just some sticker or a small PART of the package had the licensed media).

Love your posts and seeing all the various Superman memorabilia that’s out there (or has been out there). 🙂

    • Thank you for your kind words.

I hear you loud and clear! Unless a particular item “calls” to me, I usually avoid items that are just re-cast in new colors with only Superman stickers to differentiate it. If they are specifically sculpted to be uniquely Superman, then I’ll pick it up. Unless, of course, an item is gifted to me then I’m very grateful. 🙂
