Here is a copy of Action Comics number 286 cover dated March 1962. This issue contains two stories. The first is called “The Jury of Super-Enemies” in which Superman is tormented by nightmares brought on by eating ketchup poisoned with red Kryptonite while visiting a diner within the Superman Museum. The grains of Kryptonite were placed in the bottle of ketchup by a race of pirates from the planet Wexr II in order to punish Superman for thwarting there evil attempts when he was Superboy.
The second story is a Supergirl tale called “The Death of Luthor” in which Lex Luthor escapes from Metropolis Prison and plans a dastardly scheme. His schemes, however, backfire on him and he winds up dead. With Superman away, it’s up to Supergirl to solve this dilemma.
